Lake Arrowhead Conference Center Voted Best Training Venue

UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center in Lake Arrowhead, California received the Best Training/Development Venue by Unique Venues in its 2016 Best Of Awards. For the third year in a row, Unique Venues recognized standout campuses, conference and business centers, sports arenas, historical and cultural venues, camps and retreat centers, and other special event venues. The awards are the result of polling of the meetings industry community. For the 2016 awards, approximately 55,000 planners voted in 19 total categories. Unique Venues’ Training/Development category is the only award of its kind in this niche industry.

All winners were recognized at Unique Venues’ Annual Marketing Conference in Denver, Colorado in October 2016, and were also featured in the November 2016 special edition of Unique Venues Magazine.

UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center is a 90-acre property on the north shore of the Lake and features 10,000 square feet of IACC-certified meeting space in 14 meeting rooms. All include a suite of advanced audio-visual services. The Conference Center is uniquely geared toward educational and learning events. All-inclusive group packages include deluxe accommodations, Wi-Fi, 3 chef-prepared meals each day and continuous break service. Boating, hiking and other fitness activities are available.

The Conference Center was originally an elite resort accessible only by boat launched from Lake Arrowhead Village. The current Main Lodge served as a schoolhouse and then as a yacht club headquarters. In 1957 the property was sold by its owner,  the Los Angeles Turf Club, which donated part of the property to the University of California Regents. Various UC campuses managed the property over the years since until UCLA assumed that role in 1982. In 1984, the Conference Center was expanded to include 3 large conference rooms in the Main Lodge, and 32 two-story condolets. The Center underwent extensive guest room renovations and the construction of 42 additional condolets through 1995 to accommodate special programs of the UCLA Alumni Association. Currently the Conference Center can host up to around 200 guests.
